Standing by the Mekong River and opposite the Saiya Buri region of Laos, Chiang Kahn was once a hectic trade route. It is now gaining recognition as a tourist destination thanks to its vintage shops, architecture, culture and generous local population. Today Chiang Khan is a small and lovely town. The town is quiet with simple life style of people. It is a very nice place for relaxation and letting your mind fly with local life. Chiang Khan has been influenced by French colonial as evidenced by some old wooden houses. Here you will find the most beuatiful, and very old, teakwooden guesthouses of Thailand. Walking on a small street on the bank of Mekong river are also great things to do in the early morning or late afternoon. Or just explore the photogenetic narrow streets with its small local restaurants and nice, tiny shops. Walking here will put your mind back in time for years! Things that you can do!Visit Little Kunming (45 km from our farm)
Suan Hin Pha Ngam or well known as “Thailand’s Kunming” are limestone mountains aged around 230-280 million years. An uplift of the earth’s crust, together with millions of years of natural rot have made this mountain to be strangely beautiful, similar to the stone garden in Kunming (China). Therefore, it was named “Thailand’s Kunming”. Within the compound is also situated a tourist information centre. To admire the nature, people with interest can make a tour around the stone garden, partly by longtail tractor.
----------------------------------------------------- Monkey Mountain------------------------------------------------------
Visit Monkey Mountain (8 km from our farm) As soon as you arrive, hundreds of rhesus monkeys will run down from the mountain to see if you brought some snacks for them. Not many people are visiting this interesting spot where the monkeys enjoy their life in freedom. In the hot season you can see the monkeys swimming too!
